My name is Rebecca I am a 31 years old semi permanent make up technician and a mother to one, Charlie. I am a fully qualified, licensed & insured semi permanent make up artist from South Kirkby, Pontefract, which is also where I am currently based for work. I have worked in the industry now for three years, after previously completing a BA (HONS) degree in Fashion & Innovation at Leeds College of Art, a PGCE Teaching degree (HONS) from Edge Hill University and then I worked as a secondary school Art/Technology Teacher for a total of five years. From a very young age I have loved art, and being able to create or change something to produce amazing results. I came across semi permanent make up whilst searching for a career change, and although my original career didn’t work out as planned, I wanted to direct my artistic flair into something that was going to be rewarding, for myself and for the people involved.
I started my new career by training in brows, lips and eyeliner with Karen Betts at KB PRO. I have since furthered my skills and trained with other artists such as, Miriam Grice, Anthony Turner, Miriam Beganova (Limitless PMU), Rebecca Morey, Blades Academy, Gabriella Rocks, Kevin Langley, Gemma Henderson, and Tess Tattoo.
My favourite part of the job is seeing how happy clients are when they see their results, especially medical clients that have suffered hair loss due to illnesses such as, cancer, alopecia, thyroid issue and many more. These clients are usually so overwhelmed with their results we can sometimes both be reduced to tears. I have recently carried out further training for medical lip tattooing (cleft lip) and I will be looking to extend my training to areola tattooing very soon.
